Collecting the West is an ARC Linkage Project through the University of Western Australia and Deakin University, in partnership with Western Australian Museum, State Library of Western Australia, Art Gallery of Western Australia, and British Museum.
Collecting the West will widen the temporal focus beyond any previous work, ranging from the precolonial to the modern period.
It will also extend the range of collections to include natural, ethnographic, archaeological, historical, visual and documentary material, and enlarge the disciplinary focus that has informed the analysis of the history of these collections.
